Clicking install in Smapi directs you into file manager

So there's a weird thing going on here, I can't install the Smapi SDV because when I click here, it goes to file manager and when I chose the Stardew Valley folder, it goes into an endless loop (it goes back to choosing the folder.) Can someone help me pls, it's been a week trying to figure this.

It goes into here but clicking any folder will only go back to it.
