Syntax highlighting not updated when file is edited by another editor

The contents of the file update when an edit is made to the file by another editor, but the syntax highlighting does not update:

Editing the code in Zas restores some portion of syntax highlighting around where the edit took place.

Also, as one can see above, the type keyword is not highlighted.
