This Week's Education Piece 👩🏫
We will be exploring a new protocol extension currently in-development and due to be activated with Zcash's Next Major Network Upgrade which is known as Zcash Shielded Assets (ZSA) Zcash Shielded Assets (ZSA) are a proposed enhancement to the Zcash protocol, allowing for the creation, transfer, and burning of custom assets on the Zcash chain.
Similar to how ERC-20 tokens function on the Ethereum blockchain, ZSAs will enable the creation of custom tokens on the Zcash blockchain. This will allow tokens other than ZEC to take advantage of the anonymity and privacy features of shielded transactions on the Zcash network.
