*What steps will reproduce the problem?*

 * With PHP 5.2.17
 * Using special characters (ä,ö, etc.) causes pages to stop loading

This problem should have been fixed already. Please leave a comment if it still 
exists.
If you downloaded version 0.9.7 shortly after release you will encounter this 
bug.

*How to fix?*

Remove any occurences of "&#;" from text fields in the database e.g. using 
phpMyAdmin.

The attached file is already included in the current 0.9.7 package and contains 
the fixed function.
