Powerup Drops #535

alright, here we go

so in all zombies games, only up to 4 powerups can drop at a time per round. this is to make it difficult for people going high rounds because if you could get infinite powerups during a round, then it'd be too easy.

(why do you think Power Vacuum is so brokenly OP?)

however some powerups can only drop after certain requirements are met:

Carpenters can only drop after 5 or more barriers are broken (hence why it doesn't drop on maps w/o barriers or in the very early rounds)

and

Fire Sales can only drop after the box has moved once. (this is why I never put a box in first room anymore, because you can stay there until a fire sale drops and then you can grab better weapons without the box moving. Also, it'd make the map easier than I would like.)

There's also a drop cycle, i,e you'd never ever get more than 2 of the same power up in a row w/o gobblegums

example of one is max ammo, insta-kill, double points, and nuke

when you get a nuke the next powerup will guarenteed be a max ammo.

but then we get carpenter and fire sale introduced because the drop requirements have been met, and then you can get one of those 4 replaced by carpenter/fire sale (but I think max ammo cannot be removed)

also, forced powerups such as a max ammo at the end of a dog/burning zombie round and drops from Panzers (if they drop one in nZombies) do not affect the drop amount or cycle.

So if a Panzer drops a nuke before you get any other powerups, you'd still be able to get 4 powerups and the cycle would be whatever it was.

And what about the Blood Money/Bonus Points, Bonfire Sale, and Random Perk powerups? I can see the Points powerup in the content, but there is no actual powerup to drop.

Lastly, powerup drops are more common then they are in nZombies. The current drop rate feels like IW sometimes, and I know you can manually change the drop rate, but by default it should be a bit higher. (maybe 1-2% higher?) but then again it could just be my crappy RNG luck so do what you will.

I'm putting this here because that's just how the powerups have worked since WaW zombies.

How do you know this. NZ wiki, or something?

was watching a video about the history of Shangri-La's world records and the guy started talking about it.

and also speaking from experience, I've noticed that in some games, every time I get a carpenter, a max would ALWAYS be next, regardless. Sometimes, it'd be a fire sale, but that was only on occasion.

and if you've ever been at a high round, you notice that you only ever get 4 powerups before you stop getting them. (I've been to 50 on all maps in BO3 bar shang, verruckt, shi no numa, and nacht. 80 on Der Eisendrache is my highest.)
