A couple bugs #598

So I'm playing on Global's TFA nZombies server (which I'm sure is using the latest version of the gamemode) and the zombies hit you after they die on Insta Kill, unless the hit would've killed them in one hit without Insta-Kill.

If I remember correctly, this bug was fixed in an earlier version of the gamemode. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh yeah, one more thing: Bullets seem to get blocked by invisible walls. I'm trying to shoot over a couch in one of the maps on the server and the bullets are hitting the invisible wall.

Your first problem may have something to do with the zombies themselves, as I think I've ran into the same problem myself, though not under those exact circumstances.

Your second problem is kind of a toss-up. Are you saying these are the invisible walls placed by the config creator? The ones spawned by the gamemode? Which kind of invisible wall are they, there's twok kinds. If that's the case (the alternative being invisible walls set by the map creator), that's a question that has to be ground out. Do we want invisible walls to block bullets? It's intended purpose is to block people, do we also want to block bullets? Keep in mind there's two kinds, maybe the map creator used the kind that blocks bullets for a reason?

globalcringe commented 6 years ago

They're the standard invisible walls created by the invisible walls tool. I want bullets to go right on through But, I'm sure someone already reported this.

minin43 commented 6 years ago

There's 2 kinds. That explanation doesn't differentiate them.

Napalmburner commented 6 years ago

@minin43 okay let me clarify:

for the 1st bug: get two weapons: a weak pistol like the M1911, and a strong weapon, like the friggin storm giant or a sniper.

Grab an Insta Kill and shoot them with the sniper while they are in your face. (idk like 200 dmg vs 75 HP on round 1 for example). They should go flying, but that's about it.

Do the same with the M1911 (20 dmg vs 75 HP on round 1 for example) and they will die, but still hit you even though their body drops to the ground.

for the second bug: I want to actually be able to shoot through invisible walls and blocks. I find it confusing and frustrating being unable to shoot over a couch that has ZERO obstruction between me and the zombie. It's like air suddenly obtained the ability to stop bullets cold.

One more thing: There are invisible walls and invisible blocks. I swear at one point they didn't block anything except for player movement and objects. (grenades collided with them, not really game-changing). What happened to that?

minin43 commented 6 years ago

That's what I'm asking. Do you know if it was the invisible "blocks" that you have to move around with the physgun or the invisible walls that get spawned strictly with the tool gun?

Napalmburner commented 6 years ago

@minin43 It was the invisible walls from the toolgun, not the blocks that you can move with the physgun.

minin43 commented 6 years ago

As far as I know, those are supposed to allow bullets to travel through, but I'm not 100% certain. I only use CW2.0 and that weapon base natively supports bullet penetration.

Napalmburner commented 6 years ago

@minin43 yeah the weapons are TFA.
