I am not too sure of what the tester is pointing out as a normal goal can have any description for any day. It is not restricted to the current day.
If the tester is referring the the smart goals, it is intentionally linked to the current day's calories as a way to make the user more aware of the goal they want to achieve for that day. To allow the user to add a smart goal linked to different days may result in the user forgetting their goal and thus losing that goal's intended purpose instead.
Thus, I believe the intended behaviour of the goals feature is not lost and I would like to reject this bug report.

Can only set the goal for today. I think it is very necessary to let users to set goal for different days, losing this might make this feature less useful.
