When inputting text, pressing done closes the input text popup instead of actually mimicing the Done button in the XBMC popup

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Access any part of XBMC where you are asked to input text (e.g. on Aeon Nox 
change the label of a Custom home screen menu item), select input text
2. When the XBMC pop-up keyboard appear, select Input Text on the remote 
3. type something, tap Send. Notice the text is correctly sent to the pop-up 
keyboard
4. tap Done. 

 What is the expected output?
Tapping Done on the remote would result in the closing of the XBMC pop-up 
keyboard and in the characters string being sent to the input text field 

 What do you see instead?
Notice that immediately after pressing Done the inserted characters string 
disappears and the XBMC pop-up keyboard closes. No text appears in the field 
that was supposed to be written. 

What version of XBMC Remote are you using? 12.1 on Openelec 3.0

Which Android device are you using (and which ROM, if custom)?
Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0, Paranoid Android 2.57.3 based on CM 10.0.0

Which XBMC revision are you running and on which platform?
Stable, git 0d373cc

Please provide any additional information below.
The input text option used to work just fine on Eden

EDIT: XBMC remote version is 1.0.9
XBMC version is 12.1 Stable git 0d373cc

EDIT: after updating to Openelec 3.0.1, XBMC's version has been bumped up to 
12.2 alpha (git f1016fc)
