I am also having an issue with receiving the stream on VLC. I have been able to
compile the application and get it running on my phone, but I am unable to pull
up the stream in VLC using the example specified.
My ultimate goal is to get the video streaming up to wowza as well.
Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi folks,
Thank you for your feedback :)
Could you tell me what phone you're using, what android version you're running
and what version of VLC you're using ?
Normally, this is what you have to do:
1) launch the app
2) type your pc ip in the field
3) press stream, (you should probably here a little noise alerting you that an
app is using your camera)
4) open sdp file with vlc
It seems that not all phones support h264 video encoding, to find out, you
should try to read if there is errors in logcat.
If there isn't any, then try to see if you're computer is actually receiving
something from the phone, try using a sniffer to find out (wireshark for
example) !

Hi I stumbled upon your app and looks really interesting. I followed your
procedures but somehow it didn't work. I tried VLC on both Mac and PC. Do I
need to open any ports in firewall? I also saw the comments on the other issues
about WOWZA but since I have no experience with either WOWZA or sdp, I am not
sure what I am missing. Appreciate your help. And funny enough, I am from Hong
Kong as well.
Best wishes

Hi mate,
Somehow VLC ,ya i dont know why it cant read the stream.I think maybe the SDP file is not well format enough or not capable for VLC.
Wowza is a streaming server.May be you can try once. Search google for the server.
If u want to check if there are any packet come from the phone, you can go download sniffer.

Dear developer and all, I'm using Samsung Galaxy Mini Froyo 2.2. I've also
tried your steps above but still failed. I typed the correct IP address and the
program ran well on my phone. Yet VLC played nothing when it streams such SDP
file. Sometimes VLC stops playing unexpectedly. Wireshark in PC side could
catch the incoming RTP packets and has correctly decoded them.
I'm also currently working in video streaming, bit it's a bit different from
yours.

I am having the same issue. Using h264 compatible phone OR using Android 3.2
(3.0+ devices all support h264)
VLC does not capture the stream. Ports are open, Wireshark is receiving
packets.

I think we more easily write a client that receives the UDP, rather than
creating an rtp stream. Be seen, that the behavior of each phone is different.
$ mkdir -p src/com/company/application/test/
cp UDPServer.java src/com/company/application/test/

I had problems using beta 0.1 before and couldn't get this to work. I came back
to the project today and checked out the project (version 1.01) from svn using
Eclipse. Changed the default ip to my MAC ip - 192.168.1.28. Using the updated
stream.sdp code on the first page with VLC, I got it working!!
I am using Samsung Galaxy S 2. with Android 2.3.
Great project thanks.

Just tried it out, followed instructions to
1) launch the app
2) type my pc ip in the field
3) press stream, (heard camera 'ding') (PC's network adapter RX lights up)
4) open spydroid.sdp file with vlc (both one from camera and copy-paste from
project home page)
VLC's menus show one audio and one video stream, but nothing plays...
APP version: Spydroid 1.2 (market)
VLC version: 1.1.10
Firewall: Disabled

I am still having this problem. I am using the latest code (v1.6) and still not
getting it to work. VLC wont play any audio or video. I do see that packets are
coming in via wireshark.
Device:
Motorola Droid 3
Samsung Stratosphere

Dear Developer,
The use of this latest version has a problem: it can only be used once, after
installation only reinstall or clear the cache data can be used again.
