I delete the other comments although I should have resolved them instead. This was due to the fact that vs code only had a delete option and I later found that I can just resolve the comments instead to preserve the info.

In addition, I wasn't able to get the slide animation to work with only one state . As I see it , the states should not be able to get out of sync because the state within the switch is only responsible for the slide animation and thus wont affect anything else.
