Installation of Maps 1.0.0 RC1 fails on stock Ubuntu 8 64 bit installation #178

Detailed description:
Hosted mode fails to launch the "HelloMaps" demo on a stock install of
Ubuntu 8.04.1 64 bit.  

You must first install the 32 bit libraries (apt-get install ia32-libs) and
a 32 bit JRE (I used 6u7)

A user ran wireshark and didn't see the request for the Maps script leave
the machine.  

Although this problem occurred with the Maps API, it sounds like a general
linux hosted mode issue in 1.5.2.

Workaround if you have one:
Works on a 32 bit Ubunu 8 environment.

hosted mode has changed with GWT 2.0 and does now work on 64 bit machines.
