What is Missing Idea: show how long it's been since an ingredient was available #51

In my mind there's a difference between "What's the bottleneck" and "why isn't this working", and it would be cool to easily be able to see "electric engine units haven't been made in 5 minutes" as opposed to "you need more electric engine units to make this faster, but one was just available 5 seconds ago so it's not actually broken". I don't know if that would be a timer on each icon, or just highlighting them in shades of red as they sit idle for longer. Thanks!

The mod https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Bottleneck does something like this already (but highlights every machine instead of showing a summary for all ingredients). I haven't checked how that mod deals with that though, because sadly there is no easily available "this machine was last active X seconds ago" in Factorio, so to check this I assume would have to check every machine all the time to see if it is active or not, and remember that.

I use Bottleneck and like it for local status, but it doesn't help here. I guess a better way to say it is that I would like to see how long something has been on my What is Missing display -- if it's blinking on and off then I don't care nearly as much as if it's been up there continuously for a few minutes. Does that make sense?

That does make a lot more sense, yes.
