FYI, I've emailed the authours of Allen et al. to see if they're willing to share any of their data for their map so that we can calculate a national-level EID risk, rather than me trying to visually categorise based on their map... Let's see. Though I might slowly continue with trying to visually categorise anyway, in case they don't get back to us...
Hollie - I've spent the last few days sorting out the Allen data. The attached .tif files contain their subnational estimates of EID risk as seen in their Figs 3a and b.

Amazing! 😍😍😍 (though I can’t seem to see the files, am I being dense?).
So this data already corrects for reporting bias as well, right? Any thoughts on getting national-level averages/risk categories from this?

I also can't see the files...
I've had a play with an XY plot for LUC vs. EID, and I think they're rubbish! Too many very low values, so there's not much of interest. Thoughts?
This is with the dashed lines at the mean values for each variable
And this is with median
Think the map is better? Albeit with less nauseating colours
Trying the files again - I'll shove them on google drive if this doesn't work.

They might be too big for GIT?

From @BollieHooth:
Well, the main thing is changing/re-categorizing the underlying data for EID risk. I think we need to use Fig 4. From Allen et at. 2017, and somehow translate their spatially-explicit map in to country-level risk categories. I was thinking to just do this by eye in to three categories, but it’s a bit hard to be objective/time consuming. Or we could ask for their shape files, but then I don’t know how we analyze those in to country-level categories.
