About this project:

Hey there! Welcome to my little corner of the internet where I'm archiving TV programs from my country of Lithuania 🇱🇹.

🤔You might wonder why I'm doing this.

Well, it's simple: for years, I've noticed a lack of any proper archiving for Lithuanian TV programs from any major Television channels/stations/brands. They simply don't seem to care.

A week or a month goes by and they simply delete any trace of what was shown in the past. Aside from LRT, even shows get removed, ones that they themselves created.. Even websites that were created to document program information have done a poor job and don't store anything after a week.

So, I decided to roll up my sleeves and create this project!!!🙄

I do wanna give credit to people who contributed to this project (Also Zygimantas2002, who has put in great effort since at least 2021-11-19! On his 📺 creation - Senos Lietuviškos TV programos Wiki📚)

for other contributors (in the future), see ♥Contributors♥!

Working on templates edit: Done, with newer ones. As old ones are rarer to be found

So the structure should be:

(TV Channel folder)

(TV Channel name - Logo) TV Channel name - Year-Month-Day.csv

Also, if a channel changes name, that should be grouped into folders, example:

  1. LTV (Date)
  2. LRT (Date)
  3. 3.LTV (Date) From older(1) to newer(2,3)

Currently rethinking the whole process of putting Sources in the Issues page for a channel. Due to accidentally also closing the tab when I meant to just close Discord. Lost a very solid 2-3 hours of work

I'm thinking a better approach would be to have a folder in the channels, that's dedicated to Sources/Šaltiniai. Since I already made Year Templates for say 1993-2024, I can re-use that and simplify my approach + for anyone that wants to contribute or see changes in the sources (archives) it makes it much more readable and navigational.

Since there is a folder on the main page that is dedicated for Sources, called "Šaltiniai", this change would kinda negate the need for it to be on the main page, I think it's more logical to have sources be in their own individual channel folder.

I am kinda thinking over, what the format should be. Should it be approach A: [Inside channel 1] Channel name (folder) Sources for Channel Name (folder);

Approach B: the first style, just a folder on the main page that's dedicated to sources.
--Not my favorite approach.

or approach C: something else.

I also think it should make marking what source was used much easier? I will see. Haven't yet decided how I will mark it, gonna go test out on TV1

Was overthinking CSV vs TXT. Came to conclussion to use CSV or well to continue using it. I was a bit leaning on using .txt for Sources but after some time realized two things: 1) More splitting of files is not good. As in having two folders for two types of templates. One being for TV program while other would be for Sources. Too much clutter 2) I wanted a simple raw file download to be able to click links which .txt let me do while .csv didn't .. until I realized it was due to Notepad++ on .txt while .csv had openOffice. Once I realized my fault, I opened .csv with Notepad++ and it let me click links just fine! Ease of use, heck ya

Wonder if there's any need to post sources on the pull request description anymore, if source links will already be displayed in the channel šaltiniai/sources folder/files. I think there's no need

Edit: Preference thing I suppose, it's nice to have but not needed (if it's in the source folder)
