Freezes the whole system #285

I have version 75. Sometimes when I open the widget I just can't close it. Also, when this happens the whole system freezes, so the only way out is restarting the system...

I have similar (of the same) issue that sometimes Applet freezes Plasma. Restarting Plasma makes everything work again.

System: Kubuntu 20.04 with backport repositories enabled

Seeing the same behaviour on Fedora 35. System is still functional (if you have firefox/terminal/etc open already), plasma though, completely locks up and requires a kill and restart.

I have the same issue on Manjaro KDE. I saw htop and the plasmashell uses 100% CPU. I tried latte-dock and it also freezes and checking htop shows latte-dock using 100% CPU. This happens when using it as a widget on-desktop and on a panel. Restarting plasmashell and/or latte-dock fixes the issue temporarily, but it freezes within sometime. I had to remove the widget from ~/.local to get everything to work again.

Same issue here with Event Calendar version 75 on Kubuntu 20.04. Seems to happen at some point when I scroll the event list as imported from Google Calendar. Plasmashell starts using 100% CPU so I have to kill it and restart it to get control back. Nothing printed in the plasmashell console output when it happens. Not currently usable like this so I've switched back to the standard calendar widget.

Just spotted this looks like the same problem as #259
