Hi there! I like the applet! But, did you consider to make it able to connect to you own nextcloud instance? It will be AWESOME then! :D

digitalethics commented 4 years ago

@adocampo I think this is probably beyond the scope of this widget and would be better suited for standalone desktop and platform agnostic applications. For synchronization features you can try Joplin. Are you still using TodoList regularily?

adocampo commented 4 years ago

Not really. Without synchronization the tool is cool but it has no use for me. Joplin is nice, but I'd rather prefer Carnet, I think is the best open source note taking alternative to Google Keep. It has room to improve, but it has a lot of potential. And it can sync with Nextlcloud and webdav servers.

It is sad that I need to leave open my thunderbird to receive alert in my KDE. Your applet is not alone; all these little snippet of code nice to see but in reality useless make KDE and FOSS in general far behind Microsoft Apple ecosystem where almost everything communicate with everything. What is the point to have an agenda and a apps to manage your agenda if this one don't even alert you (now I'm talking about kOrganizer); but it is the same case for TodoList; what is the point of having a single file todo list on your desktop at the era of Kanban and SCRUM. Even my grandma don't use your software to remember her the milk.
