it is obvious that frontend and/or javascript ecosystem is mature enough for serious engineering.
With all the tools you can wish for and standards enabling you to write 'proper' OOP code, it is vital for developers to be familiar with this topic.
JS has reached into backend (nodejs), native apps (react-native, NativeScript, Ionic,..) and with new wave of PWA it is only going to get broader.
