Order of repositories / projects? #6

I appreciate all the projects we currently have on the page and think that they are all very valuable and important.

Nevertheless I am a little bit disappointed, that Scenarioo, as one of the probably most active and most extensive Open source initiatives at Zühlke gets currently allways listed as last repository. Of course I could change its order, but that is probably also not fair.

Therefore I think we should enforce or define some reasonable order: E.g. the repositories/initiatives with most recent activities get listed first?

What do you think?

I'm all for random initial order plus automatically rotating (eg like a carousel) to stay fair as we add more

+1 for adding scenarioo!

@tknerr I allready added Scenarioo - it is just on the last place now.

For now, as a fast solution for a better order of the projects: I think we should agree on a project order based on relevance. Or what you think?

Some possible order criterias:

@bruderol not easy to decide on a definitive order, but from out of my stomach:

@tknerr I am happy to see that we agree more or less, my point of view:

If nobody disagrees, we can change the order for now. Ok?

I changed it for now, as discussed. If somebody disagrees we can change it fast again.

If everybody agrees - we can also close the issue, from my point of view. But maybe somebody wants implement some automatic and more fair order (based on activities in the projects?).

carstenkind commented 8 years ago

It's tempting to find an objective criteria or even an algorithm to ensure the order automatically. But within this phase of the website lifecycle manually editing the order is the way to go. Have you seen that we have categories, too? We can edit them too. There is no rule, law ore something similar. Just possibilities.

"There is no rule, law ore something similar. Just possibilities." :+1: said like Bob Ross :D

I will close this for now. If someone wants to implement some automatic and more fair order or has an idea for that, he can reopen the issue.
