Message reguardless of IM status #21

I was able to get Molniya working under a Slackware 9.1 box using Ruby 1.8.
It's not working quite as expected and I am not sure if that is by design or
not.

My laptop Ubuntu 10.04 using Pidgin to connect to XMPP for Gtalk and my phone
is an Android G1. My Phone is on GTalk 24/7 and if anyone sends me an IM, it
will beep and pop up an alert. Same on my laptop if I have Pidgin running.

For Molniya to do anything, I have to always have a chat window open to it. If
I don't, it just changes it's status. No "notification" style messages.

I am unsure if I have something mis-configured or is this how it works.

I have read that Molniya will queue up messages if I am set to be away. With
two IM clients running at the same time, "away" is not really "away" When my
phone sleeps after a few minutes, it sets me "away", but I can still get IMs.
It would be nice to have an option to force send an IM regardless of my status.

I think the two issues are interconnected, but I am not sure.

Great program by the way.

Just to clarify, if you do have a chat window open, you do get notification
messages, correct?

I've run into the presence problem with multiple connected IM clients myself;
having an option to ignore Away status is a good idea and I'll look into it.
