Classification model for topics (concrete topic names) needed #1

Without investing too much time (I'm planning to do some research) I came up with the following examples for topic tags so far:

Tags like Planning Tools and Disaster Management might be merged to Planning Tools & Disaster Management. I'm open for discussion on more enumerating tags that might illustrate concepts more effectively.

Currently I think a second tag taxonomy for tech topics would help find the right project. Examples would be:

More examples would be great and what do you think about having two taxonomies?

Or perhaps you could structure it like a tree which could contain topics or problems. Topics Social, Environment, Economy, Social(Health, Education, Women rights, ...) Environment(Animals, Sustainability, Climate, ...) Economy(B2B, Fairtrade, Crowduning, ...)

That's definitely a consistent way to do it. Only the fear that it might take too many clicks to reach engaging content stopped me from committing to it so far.

Just an idea >> Perhaps you could visualize it as a real tree and put a hoover event on every topic - If you hoover over it the next subtree with more detailed topics will be shown. I haven't seen such a categorization type yet, but I think it could be cool and functional.

The current state is that for the october release there'll be two tag taxonomies called tech and purpose. In the future there might be a third taxonomy categorizing the outcome of the projects. Examples would be Collaborative Editor, Planning Tool and Microcredit Platform. But this is not very high on the priority list currently.

@MartinLichtblau thanks for your suggestion, this might be integrated in a somewhat related form. But without hovering.

I'm thinking about two list formats currently. One with focus on the categorization which might even be nested (to show all topic categories) and one with a focus on the projects themselves, but grouped into tags.
