Hi!

Next month J!3.9 will be out with an update following the Privacy by design approach. Component Creator should follow suit.

https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Integrate_Extensions_with_the_Privacy_Component At a bare minimum, Component Creators add/edit field interface should have a checkmark for personal data and supply common alternatives for removal/anonymization.

Any update on this? It's kind of required under GDPR law so it makes sence to make this top priority.

No update yet, but we will treat this as a high priority feature request. It makes sense.

We are considering how to implement this and would love to get your feedback. This is our initial proposal, please comment with your feedback below.

Proposed solution

Will be implemented on a per table basis
New option when cresting/editing a table: "This table contains private data that should be removed upon request"
Tables must have the "created_by" field (automatically added by Component Creator) already.
For now we will only support content deletion. If the developer wants to use data anonymeisation they must manually develop this
All data rows in tables created by (created_by) the user will be in data exports
All data rows in tables created by (created_by) the user will be deleted upon requests

This is great, thank you! The only thing I can think of right now is a capabilities report-field either in component settings or possibly on the tables settings and then merge them all into a single report in the Privacy component.
