Mod info tabs pane size #12

The viewable pane for the tabs to the right of the "Mod Info" pane is not resizable, and ends well before it reaches the right (or bottom) edge of the window; I would guesstimate something like 60-70 characters worth to the right, and 10 or so lines to the bottom. I basically have to resize the launcher to most of the width of my screen to fully see things like "Mod Author" in "Info", and the extra lines of vertical space go completely unused regardless of window size, which is pretty frustrating when trying to view the ReadMe notes 3 lines at a time. When you shrink the window, the info panes are completely squished out of view well before the whitespace is gone, even though there is that column of 60ish characters of unused white space in there. Obviously not a big deal, but might as well use the space that is available, right?

What is your screen resolution?

Plockets commented 8 years ago

Standard 1080p, 1920x1080 on a HDMI LED TV, using Chrome on Windows 7 Ultimate.

Could you take a picture of what you're seeing? The program should only require ~900px width to see everything in that "info" tab, which is less than half of your screen-width.

What I am referring to is all the unused space around the "ReadMe" tab, which contains an entire change log of a few dozen lines, which is kind of painful to read 2 wrapped lines at a time.

That's weird. It works as it should for me...

Without looking at the code, I found this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/953934

I don't remember the control being that deeply nested though, so I doubt this is it...

Well, I have some further information on this. I saw a post about text wrapping issues in some other application being related to display scaling, so I decided to test that theory.

My display was set to 135% scaling via "right click desktop>Personalize>Display>Set Custom DPI size", and reverting back to no scaling (100%) removes this issue. I did also try the 125% and 150% presets, but they still exhibit this issue.

I don't know if that means you can do anything about it or not, but if you can't, I guess I just have to live with it, since 100% scaling is just way too small for me to comfortably read my screen. :(

edit: It works fine at 130%! Messing with my display scaling made me want to tweak it to add just one more row of icons on my desktop, which was 130%, and for whatever reason, that displays the info tab pane normally!
