Gmail gadget has bugs / fails without notice #76

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install the Gmail gadget for Google Sidebar on a windows XP Pro. SP 3 
machine.
2. Leave running all day.
3. Put computer into standby mode.
4. Awaken computer from standby mode.
5. Try to check new mail.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output would be normal functionality of the Gmail gadget 
including, but not limited to, checking new mail and replying to new 
mail.  Instead, I see the gadget lock up for 10 seconds at a time and have 
server failure / error message when trying to reply to new messages.  

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Gmail gadget v. 1.0.0.2 on XP Pro SP3

Please provide any additional information below.
Anytime I delete the gadget and reinstall it, everything works fine until 
I go into and back out of standby mode.  Restarting sidebar also does not 
help.
