Linkage Error when using vanilla 1.8.X

Description and relevant errors: We are getting linkage errors when using Minecraft 1.8.x. When using Minecraft 1.14(.3) or the BAC client, this error does not occur. Our software uses protocollib and its packet wrapper. Furthermore, we are running via-version and bungeecord to enable support for the newer minecraft versions on our 1.8 servers.
