HTC Desire Z: FN key stops working after upgrade to android 2.3.3 #499

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Run connectbot on an older version android, type numbers and special keys
with FN. Works as expected
2. Upgrade to android 2.3.3
3. Try to enter special characters using FN keys. No longer works.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Instead of generating numbers and special characters, both FN keys on the phone
now seem to function as Alt/Meta keys

What version of the product are you using (you can see this by using Menu
-> About in the Host List)?

1.7.1

What type of system are you trying to connect to?

Remote linux system, Ubuntu

If you are able to connect, what is the output of "echo $TERM", "uname -a",
and any other relevant information on the host?

rxvt, Linux *** 2.6.32-29-generic #58-Ubuntu SMP Fri Feb 11 20:52:10 UTC 2011
x86_64 GNU/Linux

Please provide any additional information below.

I understand there are more versions of the Desire Z. This model has two FN
buttons on both sides of the keyboard.

This report seems related to issue 419, but that one seems to have resolved
itself automatically.

I tried rebooting etc, but unfortunately the problem persists.
