Hi, do you have any update for snapdragon 8cx support?

Thank you

There are some important new features for the SC8180X SoC that is used by the Lenovo Flex 5G and the IdeaPad 5G. There are several patches on the mainline support. In addition, the SC8180XP and SC8180X should be the same SoC with different operating frequencies.

The latest version of Linux kernel 6.5 fully supports the Lenovo Flex 5G SoC SC8180X. Now, I hope they will add support for the Lenovo IdeaPad 5G SoC SC8180XP.

Hello there! I have a laptop named Ideapad 14mQ8C 4G 2021 with Snapdragon 8cx gen1 soc. But unfortunately there is no linux support for this soc. I've been trying many many times to build linux such as armbian, debian-testing-iso on this laptop, but I failed. When I ran into installing linux arm64 iso, both of the touchpad and keyboard are out of order. I used 2.4G wireless keyboard to solve this, but the ssd could not be detected. So I failed to format ssd and come into next step. If you could give me some advice, I would appreciate it.

Hi, you can find more information about Snapdragon 8cx gen 2, aka sc8180xp, here. Otherwise, if you have the gen 1 version, aka sc8180x, it is already supported by the linux kernel (Lenovo Flex 5G SoC). However, to get working drivers, you need a device tree for your device.
