Are you on a Mac? Because selected text is supposed to look inverted, which is very visible. I remember that doesn't render correctly on a Mac, hence I put in a hack to render it in a different way I think.
We could look if that has been fixed by now, which would be the best solution. Failing that, a bit more visible color.
No Mac. Linux:
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20240108
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.10
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.113.0
Qt Version: 5.15.12
Kernel Version: 6.6.9-1-default (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Failing that, a bit more visible color.
And a thicker line, please. There is a loooong way to go until the selection becomes too aggressive.
Also, users with impaired color vision will be very grateful. E.g. deuteranomaly/deuteranopy shifts the perception of green towards white, and red towards black, and they have to struggle as it is.
My suggestions above would be a boon for many.
The marker for selected text is not visible enough. I guess, the thin yellow border stems from a time when monitors had low resolutions, and it has a width fixed at N pixels. Now, and moreso in the future with even higher resolutions, it is hard to find.
Is it possible to make the selected text more prominent? It should be discernible at a quick glance.
Maybe use the system selection marker? Or have a change of background? It would be great to be able to set border color or line width or text color in the Preferences.
