Come next year it won't work on Chrome.

I only maintain the Firefox version. The original Chrome version is: https://github.com/jswanner/DontFuckWithPaste

Can you be more specific as to which part won't work? I assume you are talking about manifest v3? My understanding is Firefox will support manifest v2 for a longer period of time than Chrome.
