Open sourcing it may help with fleshing out the platform (and fixing bugs) but without people actively using it, I'd say it's not going to make much of a difference. I think in the meantime, focusing effort to advertise or get some traction/ usage on the platform is a more realistic goal.
I did say I'd try to contribute a bit more on my spare time, but as of now I'm pretty swamped with my school workload. At least in the next 2-3 months, I don't think I can put in more time until after I finish school.
Ok, I don't see any drawbacks with open sourcing it. Don't worry about contributing much, I will have a full time job soon so my contribution will dwindle down.
In the mean time, I will make some posters and put them up at my school. It might help to get some users.

Should we go open source? I won't have time to fully maintain and make this at all profitable in the near future.
There are no secret keys in the repo, so going open source shouldn't be a security risk
