ArgRS discussion. Please use this tag #9

Jordan, I have noticed in the description of ArgRS the sentence "While most Class I aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases are monomeric, ArgRS is homodimeric. " Do you have a reference for that? According to me ArgRSs are monomers (but suddenly, reading this I have a doubt) Marie

Hi Marie, I think you are right. My reference was Table 1 of the review paper @MikeIbba

But I cannot find any primary evidence that ArgRS is a dimer under normal conditions (only as part of the SerRS-ArgRS complex in Archaea, or as an inactive state upon hemin binding). I will update the page to reflect this

Apologies, that table is a mess, I missed that in the proofreading when they re-made the table. ArgRS should be a monomer, TyrRS a dimer… yikes!
