GoogleTTS makes popping sounds for certain charactors and imodicons #217

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Type a smiley face, or :), in the messaging app for example Now, send the 
message. 
2. Read the sent message
3. GoogleTTS makes a popping sound

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
GoogleTTS should either say "smiley face, or :)
instead it just pops
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
latest android 4.2.2

Issue with Google TTS, cannot fix from TalkBack. Bug filed against Google TTS.
