Should Previous/Next Frame Work with AVCHD Files? #183

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. viewing AVCHD files
2. pausing playback
3. trying to move forwards or backwards 1 frame

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Can't get the left/right square bracket command (for Previous or Next Frame) to
do anything; picture remains unchanged (even though the text of the command's
name gets displayed in the upper left of frame); other playback commands all
seem to work fine.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
current 0.6.8, on Mac OS X 10.6.4

Please provide any additional information below.

Is this an inherent limitation of the AVCHD "Long GOP" format? Would love to be
able to Pause then nudge the position by just a frame or two.

FYI, just downloaded Movist 1.1.3 from the App Store ($4.99). It DOES allow for
stepping FORWARD while displaying AVCHD files, but apparently not back. So far
in my testing it generally doesn't seem to play AVCHD files as smoothly as the
older Beta version -- lots of small bits of pixelated break up. Will have to
use it more to decide if still worthwhile.
