The three bottom (close, maximum, minimum) works, but there's no cross, plus,

UDC should be compiled
1. the first time you need to build MPlayerX (release configuration)
2. the source of UDC has changed
so usually, you only need compile once.

do you mean the hover image does not follow the "standard" window?
The buttons were made from the cocoa framework,
but these three buttons actually do not follow the same hover behavior as the 
standard window.
I could make it myself, but currently it is not implemented in 0.9.9
