Equalizer should be smaller and support presets.

Nice option would be to directly use iTunes presets.

iLife Controls (possibly outdated but worth checking out) used for geting 
itunes EQ presets http://www.seanpatrickobrien.com/downloads

EQ Palette should contain also boost/audio gain slider with negative and 
positive values (-12 -> +12dB) optionally this could be added to the player 
controller extensions panel thingy (Playing Controls)
