I think Oleff is a bit buggy: he does not seem to want to give me the letter of permission #26

I finally managed to solve in chapter 1 the first three quests: cockatrice feathers, dryad and the mind devourer.

I am currently trying to finish the undead plague one, where we fight the lich Drawl.

However had, after struggling, and then reading old walkthroughs, I realiased I need an item from a tomb, which Oleff may give (via a letter of permission).

In my very first run through I was able to get Oleff to give me that letter. In subsequent attempts, Oleff never gave me anything. The dialogue options don't seem to allow me to ask him.

Could you have a look at that? Perhaps some pre-condition needs to happen or so, but I feel that if we can not get Oleff to yield us that letter, we can not proceed with NWN and are stuck. Perhaps more options in the dialogue could be added to allow us to ask Oleff to give us the letter OR give more hints HOW to get the letter (if preconditions are required still).

I ended up loading a prior save game - I think getting out of NWN for a while may be helpful so we can resume lateron. Perhaps the actor can pay like 20.000 gold coins at Aribeth or so. Anyway, this is about Oleff. The mod is great but it needs a little polishing. My next run through attempt I will probably do in a few months, as I invested too much time in the last some weeks. :)

As far as I know, everything fine with Oleff. He gives you the quest, only if a main hero is a paladin or a cleric (I guess he mentions something like that in some dialogs). It is like the quest from Eltoora - it is only for mages. But Oleff's quest is a side quest - yes, couple of rooms are going to be locked for you, but you should be able to do the main quest (and other quests). BTW if you have troubles to find some "exits" I added couple map notes in the last mode releas and overall happy to tell you where to go. Just tell me where exactly you are stacked.

In the original NWN I think it was able to get this quest by persuasion, maybe it could be scripted to work that way too (using high WIS/INT/CHA)?

Probably, but it is how it was originally coded by AGKanevchev. I am trying not to change his scripts if it is not a bug. I will ask him, though.

And the answer is: you already can have his quest if your wisdom is >= 10; no more options are planning to be added.

I was also thinking about this option, but everything you are doing in NWN is quite urgent... I will think about making Aribeth to let you go, but Neverwinter city is doomed without you, so it is no point to go back after you leave it - it probably doesn't exist anymore. And I am sorry for your experience, but I can assure you that the mod is quite polished, there already many people finish it. There still can be bugs, of course, but they should be difficult to find.
