Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
periscope -l nl -l en *.mkv

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
No errors, I get 'ERROR:root:Error raised by plugin BierDopje: list index out
of range'

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Revision 142 (just checked out)

Delete Bierdopje.pyc (watch out for the c at the end, it's the compiled version
of Bierdopje)

Retry (the .pyc will be regenerated)

Thanks! I just removed BierDopje.pyc and recompiled periscope, unfortunately
the error is still the same.

Thanks again! I just downloaded revision 148, unfortunately the error is still
there (I also deleted BierDopje.pyc.)

I just tried it (without any changes) and now it works. Strange, but I am
happy. :)

I just tried to download all subs for Game of Thrones, unfortunately the 'list
index out of range'-error is back.

Could you run it with --debug flag and give me the exact filename so that I can
try to simulate the query on my machine ?

You're right. The API key has been disabled again ...

I'll need to add more cache probably and have a talk about the BierDopje admins
to see if we can find a solution for that.

Maybe the answer would be to require everyone to request their own API key.

I'll try to contact the BierDopje admins and see if that would work for them.

Ok, I will add my own key. Thanks!

Is it possible to change the error to something that tells me the key is
invalid?

I still get the same error. I created a key on bierdopje, I copied this key to
BierDopje.py, I remove BierDopje, pyc and did a recompile. Unfortunately the old
key is still used.

What am I doing wrong?

@esther, I will update some code to handle the error message and show the
message to the user.

@pven, could you do the following:
1) check your periscope version to see if you have 0.2.4 :
# periscope --version

2) run periscope with --debug and check that the URL in the debug contains your
key. Look for "DEBUG:root:Looking for show Id @ <some url>". If it does, click
on that link or copy-paste it in a browser and look for the error message that
is returned. It will give you more insight on what goes wrong.

The esther-reply is also from me, I forgot my wife used my computer to read her
gmail. :)

Later on today I'll look at the debug-info.

1) Version is 'dev'. How can I get the '0.2.4'-version?

2) Using --debug shows
http://api.bierdopje.com/23459DC262C0A742/GetShowByName/game%20of%20thrones,
this is the wrong key. The error is 'This developer key has been disabled'.

If you use SVN, you may be using an old periscope version. Update your SVN and
check that you have the revision 149.

If you have installed periscope as a module at some point on your machine, you
could be running that instead of the latest from SVN (as the key you use is not
the latest from SVN). This would also explain why your local changes are not
taken into account.

Looks like this one can be closed?

Just one enhancement request: is it possibble to make it more easy to set
another key? Ie. on the commandline or in some config-file that can be changed
after periscope is installed.

I am currently using an eTrayz, it is quite hard to get it working with another
key.
