How does this script handle a scenario where a windows update deactivates windows?

That never happened (yet) as long as SppExtComObjHook.dll is not blocked or quarantined, KMS_VL_ALL will work

alright. Just to make sure im understanding this correctly. If windows is deactivated by an update, the auto renewal would reactivate it?

Windows does not, and never has, deactivated itself from Windows Update, that's what @abbodi1406 meant. Either way, if ever it did, as long as SppExtComObjHook.dll is not blocked or quarantined, it will reactive itself.
