That's just because it's an executable. it does the same for all .dll files.

I rarely see this for exe files. This is a pretty shady exe that gets downloaded without a prompt:

that's strange then, I didn't get a warning from downloading the file in this repository. maybe it simply has to do with windows security settings?

This has nothing to do with this repo how or where it "get" downloaded exactly?

I retried downloading vcredist and did not get a warning. So not an issue for me anymore. I guess it was downloaded enough worldwide for chrome to trust it.

an unsigned executable (the AIO installer) that runs installers (even if the installers are signed, as the vcredist installers themselves are) will trigger lots of heuristic detections

and signing certs cost a lot of money
