iTunes 11: album/song playback broken since updating to

A: Samsung Galaxy S3 on Verizon

Q. On what Android operating system version? (2.1, 2.2, Honeycomb 3.0.1
etc)

A: Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4

Q. What DACP server, OS, and version? (OSX iTunes 10.1.2, Windows 7
MonkeyTunes 1.5.1 etc)

A: Windows 7, iTunes 11.0.0.163

Q. What TunesRemote+ version? (found on Menu->More->About)

A: TunesRemote+ 2.5.3

Please provide any additional information below.

just updated iTunes on my laptop to version 11, and it seems to have broken 
TunesRemote+.  I can browse my library but when I try to play something,  
iTunes plays the wrong song. It only works if the album is selected directly in 
iTunes, then I can pick songs from that album using TunesRemote+, but if I try 
to change to a different album using TunesRemote+, iTunes continues to play 
songs from the previous album.

Is there anything I can do to get the app working with iTunes 11, or does the 
app need to be updated?

I have seen other DACP clients on the AppStore also failing after the iTunes 11 
upgrade so they must have changed soemthing.  Notifying the team to see who 
wants to tackle it....
