Assigning to Dandroid and marking it as an Enhancement not a defect

A question that I wanted to ask here is, when just opening the TunesRemote, you
will go straight to currently playing, but there is no where to go back to
then, go back to the Now playing list then maybe?
Would we then maybe also need an Exit button then, to properly close the
program rather then leaving it running in the background?

This artifact is due to the way Jeff Sharkey originally built the application.
The only way to truly fix this issue would be to rewrite this application from
scratch.
Background: Jeff Sharkey wrote the original version in about 2 weeks for the
Google Code prize in 2008. Incredibly impressive feat as this project and DACP
reverse engineering is time consuming. So the code before I got involved was
very much prototype/beta type quality with very little comments because he was
writing the code for the contest not for its future maintainability. We have
done our best to remove most of the glaring bugs and add features where we can
but things like this would require almost a complete rewrite.
Hope that makes sense!

when i press "back" in the now playing screen it goes to the background and
disconnects, I find this annoying as i have to reselect the library. can this
be fixed?

As the post above states, it can be fixed with a complete rewrite of the
application.
If you prefer a superior option I suggest Hyperfine's Remote For iTunes
product. it is 4.99 but worth every penny.
