Q. What Android hardware device do you own? (HTC Hero, Samsung Galaxy,
etc)

A: Eken M003 cheap android tablet

Q. On what Android operating system version? (2.1, 2.2, Honeycomb 3.0.1
etc)

A: Slatedroid Mercury

Q. What DACP server, OS, and version? (OSX iTunes 10.1.2, Windows 7
MonkeyTunes 1.5.1 etc)

A: OSX iTunes 10.1.1, Snow Leopard

Q. What TunesRemote+ version? (found on Menu->More->About)

A: 2.4.1 and Beta

Please provide any additional information below.

Attempting to install on the cheap android tablet Eken M003 fails with message
"Cannot install on this device". Are there specific requirements on the
hardware that TunesRemote+ will run on that the Eken may be lacking?

Further investigation shows that it does not work on my HTC Tatoo (running
android 1.6).

This suggests to me that TunesRemote does not run on 1.6. Is this correct? Can
it be recompiled to run on 1.6?

Unfortunately we made a decision early on to support Android 2.0 or higher.

I do not know much about android development so forgive me for asking - is
there a specific reason why it could not just be recompiled using the 1.6 SDK?
I could certainly attempt this if there is no fundamental problem such as lack
of necessary functionality on 1.6, although not entirely sure how far I would
get!

Hmm yes you could definitely pull down the code from SVN here and give it a
shot!

When I took over this project I just started with 2.0+ because that is what all
my test devices support so I had no way of testing backward compatibility.

I am going to mark this as WontFix. Let me know if you ever got this to
compile for 1.6.
