Most likely the issue is your Firewall/Antivirus/Spoyware. The last step of
the pairing is your PC needs to "call back" the Android device on Port 1024.
That is the step being blocked.

See the Connection Issues FAQ:

OS X. No firewall, anti-virus, or spyware programs running.

Nope. During the process telnet 1024 nook (another android for which the
same problem happens) returns:

telnet nook 1024
Trying 192.168.10.26...
Connected to nook.home.net.
Escape character is '^]'.
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Content-Length: 66

cmpa:cmp;|??v?[cmnmAdministrators iPodcmtyiPodConnection closed by foreign
host.

So that port isn't blocked.

Hmm that is very bizarre then. Have you also gone into iTunes in the settings
and selected "Forget All Remembered Remotes". This sometimes fixes issues
other people have reported.

Because the handshake process is essentially UDP 5353 for Bonjour discovery.
Then it does HTTP REquest to iTunes on Port 3689. Itunes responds on 1024 back
to the Android.

I own a Google Nexus One, Dell Streak, DroidX, and Droid2 that all work and
pair fine with iTunes.

Only other thing I can think of is somehow being blocked by your Airport Router?
