I see. Basically my intention was to disable everything when the joyride is on. But its tricky to disable a modal as it there can be variety of modals (not only bootstrap ) . One particular solution is that the modal can be set to not move off when clicked on the background.
Closing this , as the modal property can be changed to not to close.

If you click in the greyed out background of the modal, both the modal and the joyride will stop, but the page will freeze with a greyed out background still.
It would be nice if you ever clicked outside the joyride, it would be the same as clicking "skip", but that the joyride was hidden to a specific predefined place where you could pick it up at any time.
