Not Updating Map Tiles #374

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

At any zoom level except 16 and 15 GMapCatcher will not update the map tiles.
It displays "downloading" and then the tiles still display "We don't have maps
for this zoom level or region". I have ensured that the "offline" box is
unchecked. I have also tried using "operations"-"download" and specifying an
area and zoom level to download. I have also tried changing "map service"
under the "change theme" in the options menu. I have also tried searching
major cities. It will locate a coordinate point and relocate to it but no
tiles will load. I watched my network status during a "download" session and
data was being passed, the bits sent and received spiked as GMapCatcher was
downloading.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
GMapCatcher Version 0.8.0.1
OS: Windows 8 64-bit
Intel Core i3 2.4Ghz
4 GB Ram
Toshiba Satellite

Please provide any additional information below.

I installed the new version 0.8.0.2 CloudMade maps also have the same issue
with tiles not loading. Now when I search for a location instead of moving to
the coordinate points it returns a new error message "Cannot connect to
http://maps.google.com". Despite these issues, thank you for the amazing and
quick response. It is likely this is a local issue to my computer, I will try
the program on my Macintosh and see if the issues persist.

what you describe it is very likely a firewall issue.
