I haven't checked extensively, but I would expect that thanks to biblatex
's punctuation tracker, which works really hard to avoid double punctuation, you don't actually need \iffieldendswithpunct
at all. Certainly for fields ending in ?
, !
and .
. I'm not too sure about /
, but which field ends in /
?

was only used in\iffieldendswithpunct
which can be recreated withl3regex
