Emacs version: GNU Emacs 26.1 (build 1, x86_64-apple-darwin17.6.0 Avy Version: 20180814.2121

When I do avy-goto-char, it skips dired buffer, and only highlight other buffers. Is there any config I missed to make it work for dired?

At the same machine, ace-jump-mode works fine in dired-buffer.

Can't reproduce. Did you try make run from this repository?
