This feature introduce customization of jump in case of a single candidate.
Sometime it is not obvious that you would jump directly, because there is only one candidate, you expect to hit a (or whatever is your first candidate jump character).
Another reason if you use evil vim-like macros, than you get surprises in case in your screen there is only one candidate. That is very annoying.
