The following is not immediately relevant, but I was thinking of what this program could turn into, and so I thought I'd collect ideas here:

Usernames / groups: I think it would be useful if people could have usernames to store their own recipes. And some could be shared with a group. At least personally, this would be useful because I could put recipes for myself in one convenient location. Recipes could have other things associated with them of course, like a rating, etc. So there could be some kind of organization based on whether a recipe is attached to you, a group, both, sharing and importing recipes into your personal recipe book. Then the server could store username information. This could be quite basic, since I'm not anticipating more than a couple people using this.

But I have no idea what floaty mode is...
