Hi,

Is there a place where to buy ready to install hardware?

You got mail?

mkaleu commented 2 years ago

Yes, it's hot! People keep asking for a finished board. If you then name the prices, it quickly becomes quiet. The cost of a complete board is around 32 euros, because you have to buy the components here in Germany and pay customs duty on the board yourself from China. If you would like such a finished board, then contact me again with a private mail.

ampersandhd commented 2 years ago

The Price is Not the Problem. How to Contact you? Are you from Germany, too?

ampersandhd commented 2 years ago

@Boki3333 i think the 32 Euro include soldering and the other components. How much is your Board?

mkaleu commented 2 years ago

My dear @Boki3333, obviously you have no idea about the costs in Germany. The material costs: 18d20=-.80;DCDC=3.90;Elko=-.31;2xC=.12;D1=4.80;JST=-.87;Converter=-.80;Board=4.50and 2.40Custom, all together 18.50 without the shipping costs that are incurred because not everything comes from one supplier. Then it should be soldered together, guaranteed and also shipped. 32 euros are absolutely OK. I don't trade with it and don't have to earn my money with it, and I don't have anything to give away either. With such stupid discussions, I lose the desire to sell the boards. Or are you not concerned with the boards, but only with presenting your idea?

ampersandhd commented 2 years ago

@mkaleu wie kann ich dich kontaktieren für weitere Details? Würde ein fertig verlötetes Board kaufen, sofern möglich...

leandresz commented 2 years ago

I would love to buy one.

Das fertige Modul habe ich nur 1x hier und die nackten Boards habe ich 10 Stück übrig. Wemos hätte ich auch da. Da müsste man also noch ein paar ELKO und so anbringen?!

daywalker7911 commented 1 year ago

Elko usw. habe ich alles hier. Den Levelshifter aber nicht. Mach doch bitte ein Angebot für alles (passende) was du da hast.

ampersandhd commented 1 year ago

@daywalker7911

Anyone has some pre-assembled devices left over willing to sell? I'm located in Germany. Somehow 1 out of the 2 devices I build did die and I need a new one. Died just like that (AC could not be turned on while it was attached but turned on when I detached it) and I would like to replace it. Don't need the Wemos as this works fine. Don't know why it stopped working just like that... So I'm out of boards and parts and looking for a quicker way to get my hands on at least one of them. Maybe I'm just bad in soldering... 🙈

I've heard some talk that the 'level shifter' we use isn't really a level shifter at all; it works most of the time, but it's not an SPI level shifter, those are dedicated chips. I've just finish a new kicad design which actually uses a proper level shifter, and some other goodies. I'll be posting a MR soon!

Maybe its smart and it is also what you mean perhaps that you create the full package (components) that can be produced by jlcpcb for example as PCB assembly.

Seems to be matching the observed behavior I have here. I did replace the soldered board with another one and at first, the unit was dead. So I kept it in there since it was already late and wanted to get back to it a couple if days later. And all over sudden the unit was online and the controller working after 2 or 3 days later. So this would, to my understanding, fit to the "work most of the time" part.

oliv3r commented 9 months ago

https://github.com/absalom-muc/MHI-AC-Ctrl/pull/181

I can't actually push the files yet, as we need LFS support (which I can drop of course as well). I've added some goodies and my repo which does work in the MR :)

And yes, it should be JLCPCB assembly service compatible, though I've not tried that yet.

Hi looking for 2 complete plug and play boards please with the cable so I can mount outside (I don't want to disassemble to get access) Australia. thanks

also just want to confirm I can just flash with [MHI-AC-Ctrl-ESPHome] easier for me?

oliv3r commented 9 months ago

@EvoSems how do you expect to plugin the cables without disassembly?

EvoSems commented 9 months ago

@EvoSems how do you expect to plugin the cables without disassembly?

I only want to run the cable to the outside once. Then can detach reattach as I see fit by just opening the lid flap.

Sorry it probably didn’t come across correctly. Like an extension cable. Plug in once on the board and re assemble once. Then access to the connection is from under the flap.

Right, well you can always get one of these: https://www.ebay.com/p/1160173035 (there's cheaper ones too), wouldn't that solve your problem?

Yes. Perfect. Just what is needed! I had ordered a few other cables from lots of research of different sites. But they turned up too small. Which I learnt now is due to the cn105 interface. This is still a new subject to me. Learning along the way.

this seems the most reliable solution. I took readings of the cns port today. So can confirm the voltages. Some guides I followed were leading me to think I just needed an esp and 4 wires. Just reading tx rx. But they are outdated.

I have just had 2 new mhi units installed. So mhi is totally new to me. But I also want the perfect smart home. : ) I would normally look into building this all myself. But at this stage of my life with kids and a hectic job. I’m happy to just buy a plug and play solution

Based in Sydney, Australia here - having successfully assembled and installed 2x units, I have parts leftover for 3x units which I am happy to ship at cost, or assemble for some reasonable compensation. Let me know. image

I’m in Melbourne - interested let me know what your after, just need parts no assembly @addinsella

What's the latest on turnkey PCB designs like this one? https://github.com/absalom-muc/MHI-AC-Ctrl/issues/70 Did anyone test that or one like it? I'd like to just order the PCB premade from jlcpcb if possible to Portugal.

I'm in the Netherlands and have around 10-15 PCBs left over (jcpcb). I'm happy to ship them at cost price + shipping. Assembly with Traco 2450 or Traco 2450e and legit Wemos D1 mini is also possible (again, all at cost price + shipping).

Will be tested with own unit, obviously.

@riccardo92 Would you ship to Germany and do you happen to know how much shipping here would be? Currently looking for some.

riccardo92 commented 2 months ago

Willing to ship to Germany, yeah. Quick check gives me around €8,40 for a mailbox package using the national post service. I think a letter/bubble envelope would be too risky, but also possible (probably around €5).

Didn't fully get off they are completely assembled or is I'd have to order other parts for the board as well to finish it? Got some Wemos D1 left but none of the other parts, which is why I'm asking. What's the difference between the 2450 and the 2450e? I had some assembled but they all started falling after a while except one. I suspect some faulty batch but couldn't figure out what it was so I'm starting over 😅

I can ship the pcbs only, pcbs with parts or assembled pcbs, it's up to you. If you have the Wemos already, then I wont ship those.

I have not been using them very long yet, not sure how reliable they are. Still better than MHI's worthless app in any case.

The difference between 2450 and 2450e is explained somewhere in docs or issues, but it's mainly that the e version is less efficient (92% vs 96%) so it might run a bit hotter. It's also a bit cheaper.

Sounds great. I would love to have the assembled ones as I do not find much time these days to solder anything. Wemos is already programmed to the AC it needs to installed for. If the 2450e runs hotter I would guess the 2450 would be the better way to go. Still intend to install the external DS18x20 to it. Works good on the second unit. Since you have more than one how much would 5 assembled ones cost (I intend to add some more units to the house in the future) including shipping? Feel free to write me at k1r1sutojan(at)gmail.com (replace 1 with i). Thanks 😃

The behavior you're describing sounds normal to me; at least the legit Lolin units flash their LEDs once upon connecting and a few times while uploading your code. Perhaps you haven't selected the right board in the Arduino IDE or you selected the wrong clock speed (ie 160MHz).

I don't have one already assembled, but I'm assembling a few anyway so I could do one extra. I'm just waiting for some TSR2450's, so it'll take a few days. Let me know if I should assemble an additional one.
