I've tried locate
for anything called "convert" and it returns only a routine of similar name (used to convert floats to reals, from some other library. )
Nevermind, I was just being unobservant again. It's distributed as their "wrapper" used to change data formats. I just needed to explore the caltech site a bit more. :+1:
Exciting!! Still some kinks to work out with SpecPro. This is a slit that had a few good lines in it; I just arbitrarily picked it. And I threw a blue galaxy template on it.
Yay, you got it to work! Exciting, indeed! :-)
This particular spectrum looks like noise to me - note how the brightest feature at ~6560A is not mapped onto a line in the template. It's worth trying to smooth the spectrum to estimate which "lines" are real.
Interesting, I may have confused the slit numbering then.
Its a bit of a game to play to get the 1d spectra in SpecPro from DEIMOS.
Hi,
I just got the SpecPro tool all installed. It's very fancy; it should be fun to play with.
However, the critical next step to seeing the data is converting the pipeline output once more using a predefined IDL procedure which seems nowhere to be found:
